  • You can read more about the first annual Information Technology conference to be held on the UA Campus at the IT Summit website
  • Summit includes continental breakfast, breakout sessions, lunch with keynote speaker, poster session, and networking reception
  • Breakout sessions scheduled in various locations, e.g. Catalina Room, Rincon Room (see Agenda), will focus on four major areas:
    • Campus IT trends and strategies
    • Website development and content management
    • Trends in big data
    • IT best practices

+ STUDENT SYMPOSIUM:  Lunar and Planetary Laboratory Conference - August 22-23, 2013

  • Registration and abstract submission deadline July 26, 2013
  • The annual Lunar and Planetary Laboratory Conference (LPLC) is organized by LPL graduate students to provide an informal environment in which to share planetary science research projects, ideas, and interests.
  • Anyone in the Hydrology department who is involved in research related to planetary science is invited to participate.
  • Presentations from all stages of research are encouraged.  Each speaker will have 10 minutes allocated for his/her presentation.
  • Please register and submit a short abstract by July 26, 2013.

+ CONFERENCE:  Soil-mediated Drivers of Coupled Biogeochemical and Hydrological Processes Across Scales - October 21-24, 2013

  • The four key areas of research to be addressed at the proposed conference include:
    • Coupled abiotic-biotic drivers of organic matter and nutrient transformations and transport across terrestrial-aquatic interfaces
    • Quantification and improved prediction of gas flux exchange in the soil-plant systems
    • Monitoring strategies of soil-mediated processes and drivers from local to catchment scales over time
    • The soil resource as a primary driver of ecosystem services
