Patrick Broxton Wins Best Student Paper Award at Fall 2011 AGU Meeting
May 18, 2012
Congratulations are in order for Patrick Broxton, doctoral student in Hydrometeorology!
The Hydrology Section of the American Geophysical Union recently announced that Broxton had won a Best Student Paper Award at the December 2011 annual meeting in San Francisco, California.
Broxton won the Outstanding Student Paper award with his poster presentation, Combining KINEROS with SM-hsB for Flash Flood Predictions in Small to Medium Sized Watersheds. The poster summarizes his research regarding the simulation of past flash floods and the real-time prediction of potential flash floods.
The Hydrology Section of AGU selects students for Outstanding Student Paper Awards for their poster and oral presentations at annual meetings, and recipients are recognized in the AGU's weekly newspaper, Eos. They also receive a formal certificate of achievement and verbal recognition by a section president or focus group chair at a future AGU conference.
Dr. Peter Troch is supervising Broxton's doctoral research. You can read more about Patrick's research interests at the Troch Surface Hydrology website under People: Graduate Students.
Again, congratulations, Patrick, and job well done!
