The Aqua Person Awards were announced at El Dia del Agua on March 30, 2011, and this year, one of the highly prized action figures was wearing a tiara! The conclusion of El Dia del Agua saw Dr. Jennifer McIntosh and Dr. Peter Troch walk away with the much coveted green and orange statues.
Assisant Professor Jen McIntosh, this year's outstanding junior faculty instructor, teaches courses in isotope tracers in hydrogeology and advanced special-topics seminars in water-rock-gas microbial interaction and biogeochemical processes. She'll be teaching a new Tier 2 general education course in environmental chemistry starting in 2012.
Professor Peter Troch, this year's outstanding senior faculty instructor, teaches the Master's core course in fundamental surface hydrology, an advanced course in catchment hydrology, and a special-topics seminar that results in students' submission of an article for journal publication.
The statuettes will grace the desks of Jen and Peter until next spring when a new round of voting recognizes outstanding teaching in Hydrology and Water Resources. Thanks to all students who voted this year to recognize the department's best junior and senior instructors.
