Applause, applause!

We are pleased to introduce our 2023 College of Science Graduate Student Awardees in Teaching, Scholarship, and Service who will be honored at a College of Science Reception later this spring:

Mica Jarocki in Teaching

Mica Jarocki has skillfully taught a large general education course in our department three times. She worked independently, made very insightful suggestions for improving the course, and received very strong student reviews. She is clearly a natural teacher (in addition to researcher)!

Xiaojian Zheng in Scholarship

Xiaojian Zheng has made tremendous progress in his research to understand aerosol properties and their effects on clouds. He has published two papers as first author, four papers as co-author, and has several more in preparation. He was also an invited speaker at the American Meteorological Society annual meeting.

Danielle Tadych in Service

Danielle Tadych actively works to enhance the diversity of our department and to make it a more inclusive and accessible place for everyone. She has served as the past HASSA president and is deeply involved in the department and College of Science Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committees. She impressively balances her technical ambitions with her service activities and is such a positive reflection of the values we strive for.

Congratulations, Mica, Xiaojian, and Danielle. We are so proud of your achievements!
