Congratulations to our Spring 2012 Galileo Circle Scholars: Joel Biederman, Mark Kautz, Kirstin Neff, and Xavier Zapata-Rios

Congratulations to our distinguished students, Joel Biederman, Mark Kautz, Kirstin Neff, and Xavier Zapata-Rios, who have been selected as 2012 Galileo Circle Scholars by the University of Arizona's College of Science!

Inaugurated in 2009, the Galileo Circle is a society of individuals who support excellence in the sciences at the University of Arizona.   The scholarships for HWR students were made possible through the generous support of Galileo Circle members Charles and Elena d'Autremont.   The scholars will each receive a $1,000 scholarship award and are invited to attend the Galileo Circle Celebration dinner with Circle members and patrons later this month.

The selection of Biederman, Kautz, Neff, and Zapata-Rios in Spring 2012 and of Professor Peter A. Troch in Fall 2011 increases HWR’s membership in this prestigious group of Student Scholars and Faculty Fellows.  They now join Colin Kikuchi, Brian Scott Sheppard, and Elizabeth Casavant, graduate and undergraduate students elected in 2011, and Andrew Somor, David Bernard, and Regents Professor Shlomo P. Neuman, elected in 2010.

Congratulations and a job well done!
