April Implementation Goals
For your school/site:
- Get USGS map of school and prospective landcover sites
- If you know where you want the 15x15 km TM image cnetered,
send jwash@hwr.arizona.edu the latitude and longitude from a USGS map.
- Take/get a picture of your site. If you can make it into a gif, let
me know and send to my anonymous ftp site (virgo.hwr.arizona.edu). Place
in the directory pub/incoming/globe
- Locate your watershed in preperation for GLOBE hydrology activities
Surf your watershed
With your students:
- Collect bucket of soil, mystery plants - bring to Bio2 to share
with group so we can impress our students with diversity of these
within the state.
- MUC the school yard or nearby environs
- Determine when solar noon is at your site
- Record daily air temperature within 1 hr of solar noon
With a computer:
- Download Multispec tutorial

- Practice downloading images and data, and importing into Multispec or
a spreadsheet.
- Look at Sensor data at Biosphere 2 (a bit slow ...)
Be ready to discuss:
- Unresolved issues from first session
- Your schools preliminary implementation plan
- Share ideas for implementation/funding
Be ready to make a 5 min report/school:
- What investigations you would like to begin with
- What collaborations you would like to pursue (GLOBE, local, other)
- What kinds of sites you expect to develop (eg: school, pond, desert)
- Where you need the most help from the group over the next 8 months.
