SLIDERS is currently in beta testing. Sliders is written in the Java programming language developed by Sun. You should be able to run this program on any platform (PC, Mac or Unix) that can run Java enabled Netscape. SLIDERS also runs under other browsers that are Java enabled although it has not been tested extensively under these browsers.

The MAP IT! button in SLIDERS is not enabled in the beta version. The idea behind this button is to have the student select different parameters with the interface and then be able to query the GLOBE Data Server at the Forecast Systems Lab in Boulder, Colorado to produce a visualization of student data.

If you do not know if you browser is Java enabled?

• Click on the Options menu item in Netscape.
• Select Network Preferences from the menu.
• Click on the Languages tab when the Preferences dialog box opens up.
• Make sure there is a checkmark in the box beside the words 'Enable Java'. If there is not, click on the box to put a checkmark into the box.

SLIDERS is currently being being tested under limited release. Please not that the images currently used in SLIDERS are for internal testing use only. Please do not copy or use these images in ANY way!
