How to Use Sliders?
SLIDERS gets its name from the 2 slider bars (just like your stereo).
The first slider bar controls temperature and the second dissolved oxygen.
- Click on the slider bar and hold down your mouse button to move the slider bar.
- The temperature or dissolved oxygen will change. You can read it in the box below the slider or from the slider itself.
- As you change the temperature or dissolved oxygen a list of macroinvertebrates will appear in the Macroinvertebrate box.
- To see a picture of that macroinvertebrate click on the name of the macroinvertebrate.
- If you want to see a picture of the macroinvertebrate as an adult, click on the tab labeled 'Adult'.
- If you want to see a picture of a developing macroinvertebrate click on the tab labeled 'Young'.
Teachers!
Use SLIDERS to:
- Help your students learn the taxa of macroinvertebrates before your field trip.
- To investigate correlations between your student's data and the macroinvertebrates they discover at their water site.
- To test student's knowledge.
- To investigate other sites from the data server.
Please click on the Sliders button and enjoy!
