22nd Annual El Dia del Agua 2012 information is here.

The Department of Hydrology and Water Resources (HWR) and the Hydrology and Water Resources Student Association (HWRSA) will co-host the 21st Annual El Dia del Agua Student Research Symposium on Wednesday, March 30, 2011.  El Dia del Agua is a symposium of oral and poster presentations made by graduate and undergraduate students from the Department of Hydrology and Water Resources and is a major event in the College of Science's Earth Week calendar.

 

El Dia del Agua will feature oral presentations during morning and afternoon sessions and many exciting posters to view during the day-long event.  Prizes and monetary awards are made for the best student oral and poster presentations.  The awards ceremony ends with presentation of the Aqua Man-Aqua Woman of the Year Awards, HWRSA-sponsored and student-selected awards that recognize the department's most outstanding junior and senior faculty instructors.

 

El Dia will be held in the University of Arizona Student Union North Ballroom (see Schedule and Location below) beginning at 8:00 am with a continental breakfast.  After a brief welcome by the department head and HWRSA officers and session moderators, oral and poster presentations will begin.  A light buffet lunch will be served at 12:00 noon and will feature a guest speaker. Following lunch, oral and poster presentations resume, followed by the keynote speaker, the awards ceremony, and the final wrap up reception. 

 

Registration for this event is $35 and includes continental breakfast, a light buffet lunch, refreshments throughout the day, and the hors d'oeuvre and drinks reception following presentation of the awards.
