Melissa Schlegel has been named HWR’s latest Marshall Foundation Dissertation Fellow!   Her award was announced on December 7, 2010, by her dissertation advisor, Dr. Jennifer McIntosh, Assistant Professor in Hydrology and Water Resources. Within in the next year, Melissa will complete the research and writing for her dissertation, "Investigation of the timing, hydrogeologic controls, and metabolic limitations of microbial methanogenesis in the Illinois Basin using geochemical, isotopic, and microbial techniques."

 

For the Spring Semester 2011, Melissa will receive the full benefits of the Marshall Fellowship, including a stipend of $10,788 and a full in-state tuition award.
