A Travel Grant award provides funding for student researchers to attend national or regional conferences.

The 20th Goldschmidt Conference 2010 was held in Knoxville, Tennessee, June 13–18, 2010, hosted by the University of Tennessee and Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

The Goldschmidt Conference, convened by the Geochemical Society and the European Association of Geochemistry, is the premier forum for the geochemical community. Attendance at the annual conference has grown to 3000 delegates since the conference began more than twenty years ago. The conference has been embraced by the broad spectrum of geochemists with interests ranging from Earth’s core to its atmosphere, from melts in Earth’s interior to creatures living on its surface, and from Earth to Mars and beyond.

The theme of Goldschmidt 2010 was Earth, Energy, and the Environment, blending areas of active research with global science policy.
