Dear Friends and Colleagues:



This letter is an invitation to attend "El Dia del Agua," the 16th
Annual Hydrology Student Research Symposium on *March 2, 2006*.  The
program, consisting of oral and poster presentations by graduate and
undergraduate students, is co-sponsored by the Department of Hydrology
and Water Resources, and the Department's Student Association (HWRSA).
Awards will be presented for the Best Oral Presentation (Montgomery
Prize), First and Second Place Posters (Hargis Prize) and Best Speaker
and Posters (HWR Prize).



The symposium will be held at the Student Union’s North and South
Ballrooms.  The format for this year’s event will differ slightly from
the past.  The program will begin with Registration and Continental
Breakfast at 8:00 followed by Oral Sessions and Poster Presentations.
Our luncheon speaker will be Dr David Hargis, of Hargis and Associates.
Following lunch the remainder of the Oral Presentations and Posters will
be presented.   Stephen Silliman of the University of Notre Dame will
speak at 3:00 p.m., followed by the Awards Ceremony at 4:00 p.m.
Registration for the event is $30 and includes lunch.
