Throughout the semester there is a series of HWR lectures that run a gamut of topics of interest to people in the department. Lectures are at 4pm on Wednesdays each week (see calendar). Lecturers come from other departments and organizations, and even from within our own department. HWRSA will provide munchies and drinks around 3:45 PM, right before the lecture. SUDS will be held after lectures, see below.
SUDS
SUDS are informal gatherings that are organized by HWRSA periodically to socialize with fellow HWR students and faculty in a more relaxed setting. When funding will allow, HWRSA will pick up the tab for the first round of beers, but you have to come early. SUDS are held on Wednesday afternoons after the department seminar. The location will be announced and is usually at one of the local bars along University Boulevard, just off campus.
Prospective Students
We strongly encourage you to contact faculty, staff, and students throughout the year with your questions. Visiting campus is a great idea to meet potential advisors and to talk with current students. El Dia del Agua, held annually in the month of March, is the best time to get an overview of what the department has to offer. Contact HWRSA with any questions concerning your visit!
